About the Child Profile Gallery

We invite you to get to know some of the dynamic children and teens who are waiting for adoption in Massachusetts! All of the children profiled in the gallery are in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and need a permanent adoptive home. Siblings profiled together are in need of a family who can provide them a home together. Please consider these profiles merely an introduction to the child. We respect the privacy of children and do not list most medical or mental health issues, nor are we able to capture the full strengths and personality of the child.

For Licensed Families

If you are a currently licensed family and have submitted your caregiver assessment to be verified by MARE, you can learn more about a specific child or sibling group by placing an inquiry.  If you have not already submitted one and are a Massachusetts family with a current, approved caregiver assessment for foster care adoption, you can submit your caregiver assessment for verification with MARE. This will allow you access to also view children with a goal of adoption but for whom the courts have yet to terminate parental rights of their biological family.

To submit your caregiver assessment for verification, contact Emily Goldberger. Families from other New England states and New York can also submit their license study/ caregiver assessment.

We request that you inquire about no more than 3 children or sibling groups at a time.

For Non-Licensed Families (Not yet approved to adopt from foster care)

Feel free to browse our public child profiles to learn about the youth who are waiting for adoption in Massachusetts!

For those new to the process: We offer many resources to help you start or progress on your adoption from foster care journey.  Please consider attending an Explore Adoption Webinar to speak directly with a MARE staff (live virtual webinar or recorded webinar) to learn more about starting the process of adopting from foster care.  By connecting with us in either of those two ways, you can expect to hear back from a MARE staff person about next steps if you are new to the process.  You can also feel free to learn more by downloading our e-book about “How to Adopt From Foster Care.

For those in MAPP or waiting for the caregiver assessment to be completed: You can use the bookmark tool to bookmark specific youth you would like to inquire about once you are licensed.
