HI! My name is Leighla.
"I like to be silly and make other people laugh!"
Leighla is a smiley seven-year-old girl of African-American/Caucasian descent. Due to some delays in her speech and motor skills, Leighla receives support in school through an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). She is currently in the 1st grade where she benefits from being in a small classroom . Leighla reports her favorite subject in school is math. Leighla loves to draw and color. She also loves caring for her Baby Alive Doll she received for Christmas. Leighla has shared that she believes she listens well to rules and follows directions. She also is proud that she has learned how to swim through participating in her local Boys and Girls Club.
Not yet legally freed for adoption, Leighla will need a family that can maintain visits with her older sister who is placed separately. She also has a grandmother who is supportive and would like to remain connected. Leighla would do best in a single female or two mom home. She would do well in a home that had teenagers or no other children. Her current foster home would also like to remain a part of Leighla’s life.
