HI! My name is Gene.
"I want to be in law enforcement when I grow up!"
Gene is a friendly eleven-year-old boy of Caucasian descent. Gene is athletic and loves sports. He plays basketball, soccer, baseball and he just started playing football. He also likes being on the computer and playing video games. Gene has stated he wants to be in law enforcement when he grows up. He is a cooperative young boy who aims to please the adults in his life. He is very bonded to his foster family and looks to them for a lot of support. The family has a dog which he loves and is connected to.
Due to his past trauma, Gene can struggle emotionally. He needs to receive emotional support in all aspects of his life. In the past when he would be frustrated he would act out, however this has greatly been reduced since the last school year. Gene attends a therapeutic day school and has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for delays in math and reading. He is also involved in trauma-based therapy to work on areas related to his past.
Gene is legally freed for adoption and can be placed in a two parent family with or without other children. His future family needs to provide a lot of support, supervision and patience in their parenting. They should also be open to maintaining visits with his older sisters as these relationships are very important to Gene.
