HI! My name is Makaila.
"I love to dance."

And here's what others say...
Makaila is a courageous twelve-year old girl of African American/Caucasian descent. Makaila enjoys music, dance, sports and her after school program. She also likes going to the local park to play with her peers. She would love the opportunity to play team sports in middle school, basketball in particular. Makaila has been attending dance classes for a few years now and she especially enjoys her hip-hop classes. Makaila is still debating what she would like to be when she grows up.

Makaila is excited about attending middle school for the first time in the fall where she will be in the 6th grade. Makaila attends public school and receives some extra support in the classroom for her academics through an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Makaila is well liked by her peers and enjoys interacting with the adults.

Not yet legally freed for adoption, Makaila has shared she would like a family with at least one female caretaker. Makaila is open to a mom/dad, single mom or two mom family who can provide her support as she navigates her teen years. Makaila would prefer to be the youngest child in the home and is not opposed to being an only child. Makaila’s aunt and uncle are her visiting resource and she would like to maintain this connection. She also has siblings she maintains contact with through social media and it is important to her that this continue.
