HI! My name is Nathaniel.
"I love giving hugs and kisses!"
Nathaniel is a lovable and friendly 2-year-old Hispanic toddler. Nathaniel likes playing outside, enjoys anything that has to do with Mickey Mouse, and loves going for car rides. He also likes to dance to music. He is very affectionate and loves to sit with his foster family and engage in different activities. He has positive interactions with both children and adults.
Nathaniel is on the Autism spectrum and has developmental delays. He receives Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy, 20-25 hours/week per week. Nathaniel’s providers report that he has made progress since being involved in this service. Nathaniel is mostly nonverbal. At times he may have a minor tantrum when he cannot verbalize his feelings or what he wants. He started to say single syllable words and babble at around 11 months of age, but then stopped a few months later. His foster family speaks Spanish, and he can understand some Spanish. Nathaniel receives Early Interventions services, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. He attends an Early Intervention social playgroup once per week.
Not yet legally free for adoption, Nathaniel will benefit from a patient family of any constellation who can help him learn the skills he needs. It would be helpful if the prospective adoptive family has a flexible schedule due to Nathaniel’s multiple medical appointments. His foster family is willing to be a part of the transition plan when a family is identified. Nathaniel will need to remain in Massachusetts until he becomes legally free.
