HI! My name is Aaliyah.
"I like to help those who are in need!"
Aaliyah is a funny and sweet eleven-year-old girl of Cape Verdean and Lebanese descent who likes to please others. She loves doing her hair, painting her nails and playing with dolls. She is helpful and takes pride in her loyalty to friends and family. Aaliyah would like to be a doctor when she grows up because she enjoys helping those who are in need. She also likes pets and has thought about becoming a veterinarian.
Aaliyah does well academically with the appropriate supports in place. She follows an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and performs one grade level below peers her age. Aaliyah does her best when given emotional support and structure in her everyday life. Aaliyah has had some emotional struggles and is currently placed in a residential program. She has been there for a year and is doing well, and is ready to join a family.
Legally free for adoption, Aaliyah is searching for a loving and supportive home with a mother and a father or two mothers. Her social worker is open to considering families with or without other children in the home. Aaliyah has an Open Adoption Agreement to see her mother three times a year and her father four times a year. Aaliyah has two younger brothers, ages twelve and nine. If the siblings are not adopted together, it is very important that Aaliyah has regular contact with them.
