HI! My name is Jerome.
"I like to be active!"
Jerome is a bright, funny and active thirteen-year-old boy of African-American descent. His favorite activities include basketball and swimming, and he hopes to learn how to play football someday. Jerome often acts as a leader among his peers and can be very compassionate.
Jerome is in a special education setting and is supported by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). He is intelligent and will most likely improve academically when he is in a stable home. Jerome has worked hard in his residential placement, and is ready and eager to move into a family setting. He is active in therapy and has made great progress in his ability to appropriately manage conflicts.
Not yet legally freed for adoption, Jerome will do best in a loving and supportive home with two parents or a single woman. His social worker is open to considering a family with no other children or with children much older than Jerome. An ideal family for Jerome will be active, and be able to “keep up with him” in terms of humor and intellectual stimulation, as well as provide him with emotional support. Jerome has stated that he wants a home in a “safe and quiet town.” A family should be open to helping Jerome maintain contact with his birth-mother and biological sister.
