"I love to read!
Marissa is a talented and courageous ten-year old girl of Caucasian descent. She is very talented artistically and loves doing art projects and taking art class. Marissa also loves music and dancing. Marissa has a great sense of humor and loves to be goofy. On one occasion she thought it would be funny to put her name as “Hermione” from Harry Potter on her nametag instead of Marissa!
In school, she is in a regular public school classroom and has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) for emotional support. Marissa is an advanced reader does well academically. Marissa is vocal about what she is thinking and feeling and is able to express her needs. She is said to be a great advocate for herself!
Legally freed for adoption, it is important to Marissa that she get to see her younger sister who is placed separately. They currently visit with each other on a monthly basis and this is something Marissa looks forward to. Marissa has been open about her hopes and dreams for her family and she is open to her social worker exploring all different types of families. She would do best as the youngest child in the home and she would also like her own bedroom.
